GoFitDaddy is a dating and community app for LGBTQ+ men, for adults aged 18 and over. This manual explains every feature, and — just as importantly — every protection built in around it. If you only read one section, read “Staying safe”.

1. Getting started

1.1 Creating your account

• Sign up with your email address and choose a password. No phone number is needed.
• Enter your date of birth. It is checked on our servers: an account under 18 is rejected, and the date cannot be changed afterwards.
• Your date of birth is never shown to anyone. Other users see only what you put on your profile.
• Because a profile can reveal sexual orientation and health information, we ask for your explicit consent before storing it. You can withdraw that consent at any time.

1.2 Building your profile

• Add photos and videos, a bio, and a status line
• Set gender identity, pronouns, sexual orientation, body type, fitness level and self-label
• Choose what you are looking for, your interests, and your tribes
• Optionally add health information such as HIV status, relationship structure, or when you last tested. All of this is optional, and you control whether it appears.

Every profile photo is screened automatically before anyone can see it. Public profile photos must not contain nudity — see section 6.

2. Finding people

2.1 The grid

• The grid shows people near you, nearest first
• Distances are shown as bands, never as an exact figure, and never as a point on a map
• Filter by age, distance, gender, orientation, body type, fitness level, tribe, interests, what they are looking for, vibe, and whether they are online or verified

2.2 Beyond your area

• Search another city to see who is there before you travel
• Add a travel plan so people in your destination can find you in advance
• See who is visiting your city right now

2.3 Signalling interest

• Tap someone to show interest without writing a message
• Add people to Favourites to find them again
• Send a Super Like when you want to stand out — see section 7

3. Chat

• Send text, photos, videos, and voice messages
• Share an event, or one of your private albums, directly in a conversation
• Group chats for organising something with several people (GoFitDaddy+)
• Automatic translation of incoming messages into your language (GoFitDaddy+)
• Read receipts can be switched off entirely in Settings, in which case you do not see other people’s either

Photos, videos and voice messages sent in chat are screened before they are delivered. A message held for review shows as “Under review” until the check completes.

4. Events, tribes and guides

• Host or join events and meetups, and RSVP
• Boost an event so it is pinned in the feed for 24 hours
• Join tribes to find people who share your interests
• Read and contribute city guides written by the community

5. Albums and photos

• Group photos and videos into named albums
• Share an album privately with one person in chat, and stop sharing at any time
• Consensual adult content is allowed in private albums and in one-to-one chat between adults. It is not allowed on public profile photos.
• You are alerted if someone takes a screenshot in a conversation with you

6. Staying safe

These are the protections that run whether or not you think about them. They are the reason several of the features above work the way they do.

6.1 Your location

Blurred on your device

Your phone rounds your position to roughly 100 metres before it is ever sent. Your exact position never leaves the device.

Blurred again on arrival

Our server rounds it a second time, so an exact position is never stored even if something went wrong on the device.

Banded distances

Other users see a distance band, never a precise figure and never a map pin.

You can withhold it

Decline the location permission and the App still works; you simply are not placed on the local grid.

6.2 Being invisible

Incognito

Browse without appearing in the grid or in Who Viewed You (GoFitDaddy+).

Stealth mode

Hide your profile from everyone except a trusted allowlist you control.

Automatic stealth

Optionally turn stealth on by itself when you arrive in a country with a high legal risk for LGBTQ+ people. You are told when it happens, and never blocked from using the App.

Country safety ratings

Look up the legal situation for LGBTQ+ people in a country before you travel.

6.3 Hiding the App itself

Hide App

A panic screen that instantly disguises the App if someone looks over your shoulder.

Disguised icon

Change the App icon and name on your home screen so it is not obvious what it is.

Emergency wipe

Clear your local data from the device immediately if you need to.

6.4 Controlling other people

• Block anyone in one tap; they can no longer see you or contact you
• Undo your most recent block if you change your mind (GoFitDaddy+)
• Report a profile, a message or a photo in one tap
• Every report is reviewed by a person, not only by software

6.5 What we screen

• Every photo and video, everywhere in the App, before anyone else sees it
• Message text, for threats, incitement to violence, and anything sexualising a minor
• Voice messages, by transcribing them and screening the transcript
• Screening fails closed: if a check cannot complete, the content stays hidden rather than being published unchecked
• Zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material. It is reported to the authorities and the account is terminated, without exception.

6.6 Your data

Where it lives

On our own servers in Nuremberg, Germany — inside the EU.

No tracking

No analytics, no advertising, no attribution software. Nothing measures how you use the App.

No payment data

Apple and Google take the payment. Your card details never reach us.

Export it

Download everything we hold about you, from Settings, at any time.

Delete it

Delete your account from Settings. Your profile, photos, albums and messages are removed.

7. GoFitDaddy+ and the Shop

7.1 The subscription

GoFitDaddy+ is optional. It unlocks:

• See who viewed you
• Unlimited filters
• Incognito mode
• Toggle read receipts
• Automatic translation of chats
• Create group chats
• Undo your last block

It is offered weekly, monthly or yearly. The price you see is always the price your app store charges in your own currency. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel, which you do in your Apple or Google account settings — not in the App, and not by deleting it.

7.2 One-off items

Super Like

A high-signal tap, so someone knows you mean it. Sold singly or in fives.

Profile Boost

30 minutes at the top of nearby grids.

Event Boost

24 hours pinned in the event feed.

Your balances are shown at the bottom of the Me screen as SL (Super Likes), PB (Profile Boosts) and EB (Event Boosts).

8. Health and wellness

• Optional STI testing reminders, private to you and never shown to anyone
• A directory of clinics and support services
• Harm-reduction information

This is information, not medical advice. Nothing in the App replaces speaking to a clinician.

9. If something goes wrong

Content removed?

You can appeal. See the Appeals Policy.

Someone harassing you?

Block and report. Reports are reviewed by a person.

Purchase not credited?

Use Restore Purchases on the paywall.

10. The rules, briefly

• 18 and over only
• Be who you say you are
• No nudity on public profile photos
• Consent, always — in what you send and what you ask for
• No harassment, hate, threats, or discrimination
• Never share anyone else’s photos or private information
